Getting started

Beginner guide: your first priorities

Follow the opening tutorials until you can explore, then work toward a free horse, the first Bloomfield chapter and a larger bag. Water your crops and care for animals before leaving. Use the south exit to explore the other towns; clearing the forest mist is not the prerequisite for leaving Bloomfield.

Quick guide

  1. Finish the prologue to receive your DocPad and animal-care tools.
  2. Start befriending a horse south of Bloomfield over repeated daily visits.
  3. Complete Bloomfield Chapter 1, while saving wool and iron for the bag upgrade.
  4. Discover towns and map-revealing statues as you explore; return to later chapters when you have the required resources.

Finish the opening before planning a perfect farm

The early days are directed tutorials. Complete the farming tasks, follow your childhood friend to collect strawberries, receive the DocPad at Village Hall and take Dandy to Wolf Hill. Finish the barn-cleaning lesson to close the prologue. Use the opening walkthrough if an objective seems unclear.

Invest in movement and carrying space

A wild horse saves the stamina you would spend dashing. Approach the herd south of Bloomfield while sneaking, pet one horse and offer it a mushroom. Return to the same animal on another day. Follow the free-horse route.

The bag upgrade becomes available after Bloomfield Chapter 1. A lamb needs time to mature before producing the wool used for Fabric, so starting animal care early helps the upgrade arrive sooner. Save the wool and iron rather than selling everything from your first excursions.

This ordering is an editorial route based on the linked walkthroughs. It is not a claim that your first week must match an exact day-by-day calendar.

Keep the daily loop small enough to finish

  1. Water planted crops and check the field with the Soilbot.
  2. Feed and pet animals, clean barn waste, and protect growing crops before grazing.
  3. Talk to villagers and finish requests for Happilia.
  4. Take food, use your map markers, and explore toward one objective.
  5. Return to care for the farm or use the campsite options available in your current progress.

Questions & sticking points

Do I have to clear the mist before leaving Bloomfield?

No. The south exit leads into the wider world. Do not confuse the forest’s blocked route with every exit from the village.

Should I finish every chapter in one town first?

Explore other towns when later requests need their materials. The firsthand beginner guide recommends completing the first chapters across the regions before forcing later ones.
